Christina Smith began her ministry at St. Ambrose in 2003. An Insurance and Marketing major from Indiana State University she attended a retreat in the Spring of 2003 that forever changed her life. In 2003 Christina began part time ministry working with our high school youth ministry program. The ministry has grown through the years from a handful of youth to 80 or so youth during weekly youth ministry gatherings. She has led many youth on mission trips serving all over the United States. She teaches Theology of the Body for Teens to both Middle School and High School students.
In 2005, Christina grew her ministry to include Confirmation preparation for our young church. Our Confirmation classes average about 20 Confirmandi each year.
In 2012, Christina grew her ministry again and became a full time staff member at St. Ambrose. Coordinating Religious Education for Preschool-12th grade including the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Communion, RCIA for Children of Catechetical Age, and Confirmation.
In 2013, she worked with to implement a SPRED (Religious Education for Students with Special Needs) program at St. Ambrose Parish.
Christina oversees 17+ Catechist on Sunday mornings during Religious Education, 10+ Adult leaders and 19 youth leaders through St. Ambrose Youth Ministry program.
As St. Ambrose Parish has grown to welcome other cultures to our community, Christina has worked to integrate these communities into existing Religious Education and Youth Ministry programs.
Christina was born and raised at St. Ambrose Church. She was a student at the school from 1st-6th grade. She graduated from Seymour High School and Indiana State University. Christina has 3 sons; Grant, Evan, and Charlie(deceased). In her spare time Christina enjoys traveling, staying active, reading blogs, staying organized, and volunteering.
